Nintendo Wii Points are the Wii’s exclusive currency that can be redeemed in the Wii Shop Channel to purchase all sorts of downloadable software. The software you can download is broken into three categories which are: Virtual Console for older games, WiiWare which has been specically designed to download the latest games solely for Nintendo Wii and the Wii Channels section which allows you to download software such Wii’s Opera web browser. The points will also let you download DSiWare from Nintentendo’s DSi shop as well. Once the points have been purchased you will have to choose your platform of use which will be either the Wii Channel or the DSi channel, leaving your points locked to become either Wii points or DSi points.
